New Poll: Private Security Contractors

by Jason Rosenbaum  ::  Filed Under Middle East / South Asia  ::  October 2nd, 2007 @ 12:31 pm EST

Given the intense scrutiny lately surrounding private contractors in Iraq such as Blackwater USA, we want to find out what Seminal readers think about these hired guns. But first, last week’s results:

Last week we asked you whether you had made up your mind about who to vote for in the upcoming presidential primary. 57% of poll respondents said that they had in fact made up their minds, which seems surprising to me. I wonder how hard and fast those decisions are and whether they can be swayed by any events still to unfold as the race progresses. 32% of Seminal voters were like me, undecided. And 11% said they weren’t going to vote in the primary at all.

This week, controversy surrounding Blackwater USA continues to grow, with allegations of drunk shootings and damning statistics showing Blackwater is a bit too trigger happy. We want to know what you think about the Bush administration’s use of private security contractors in Iraq. Are these mercenaries necessary or should their use be eliminated or severely curtailed? Voting begins right now in the sidebar at right.

2 RESPONSES to “New Poll: Private Security Contractors”

Once again, the media and Democrats are Hipocrits!!!

First; the media (like the writter of this article)

The very same contractors they are painting a picture of being wild cowboys are the same people THEY PAY TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!!

Even when one of them did a recent video on us, he did it riding in a vehicle with two “Mercenaries” sitting in the front seats!!!.

Democrats? Oddly, none of the media is reporting the truth (oh yeah, “that’s a matter of interpretation.” Whatever!) that the current spike in the use of Private Military Firms actually began under the Clinton Administration during his UNILATERAL attack on the Balkins!! Though he likes to take credit and get the UN’s “Att a Boy” on the subject, Clinton did NOT win that through his own actions, it was actually a Private Military Firm… MPRI.

So, while reporters and politicians use this to get attention, “Oh My God! Mercenaries are gonna take over the world!” the war will go on and more of us will die because of self-centered people like this.

We are NOT “Mercenaries”. We are specially trained security gaurds using skills and weapons necessary to the environment to protect persons, places and things.

Hey J-Ro, I wish reporters like you took a Hipocritic Oath to tell the truth.
