Links 11/3: Pakistan in Crisis, Mukasey’s Nomination, Democrats Are No Fun, and the Free Press

Attorney General nominee Michael Mukasey has picked up support from Democrats Diane Feinstein and Chuck Schumer. Many are still opposed, however, including Dodd, Clinton, and Obama.

Stephen Colbert won’t be on the Democratic ballot in South Carolina because “top party officials” decided that Colbert would “detract from the serious candidates on the ballot.” From now on, top South Carolinian party officials are not invited to any of my parties. They just aren’t fun people.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has declared emergency rule, taking independent media off the air, detaining the entire Supreme Court, and possibly imposing de-facto martial law. The Agonist has an updated list of headlines.
