New Poll: Republican Primary Straw Poll v.2

by Jason Rosenbaum  ::  Filed Under Elections 2008  ::  November 23rd, 2007 @ 10:13 am EST

For this week’s poll, if the Republican primary were tomorrow, who would you vote for? But first, last week’s poll results:

Last week, we asked you to pick your choice in a Democratic straw poll. Last time we ran a Democratic straw poll, Barack Obama and Mike Gravel won with 33% and 24% of the vote respectively. This time, the winner was far clearer. Dennis Kucinich won the poll with 38% of the vote (he only pulled in around 8% last time). The next closest finisher was Barack Obama with 22%, a substantial drop in support. Edwards came in 3rd with 11% while Richardson, Dodd, Biden, Clinton, and Gravel brought up the rear.

Of course, these polls are far from scientific, but I do imagine that Kucinich’s recent impeachment resolution has out brought support for him among readers here.

This week, we take a poll of the Republican field. Last time, Ron Paul won with 60% of the vote. If you’re taking bets, mine is on Paul winning handily again. So, if the Republican primary were tomorrow, who would you vote for? Voting begins now in the sidebar at right.
