Weird Moments in Web Analytics: November 2007 |

|
In what is quickly becoming a revered Seminal tradition (if I say it, it’s true, right?), I will now recap the strange things we’ve measured about you, our readers, this month.
- We seemed to have lost favor with Iraqis. Our Iraqi traffic was down 33% this month. Come back, Iraqis, we like you! And we want the war to end too!
- The most popular language spoken by our visitors, after English, is French.
- The most popular time of day to visit The Seminal is 11 am PST.
- We had one person visiting us this month running a screen with only 4 bits of color (as compared to our normal 24 or 32 bit screens). We also had over 30 lucky bastards visiting us with screens that used over 500 bits for their color.
- And finally, for the third month in a row, we have increased the number of people who found The Seminal through the search term “egypt sex.” So, from here on out, I’m conducting a Search Engine Optimization experiment. I will mention egypt sex once a month, in this post, and see if I can keep reigning in more and more search engine traffic. I bet I can bring in more people looking for egypt sex this month just by mentioning egypt sex a couple of times. Egypt sex.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this months edition of Wierd Moments in Web Analytics. We’ll be back next month, bringing your more of the odd things we can measure with technology.

I tell you, those Egyptian sex bastards keep looking for me.
