Ron Paul Brings in the Bucks, Lieberman is STILL a Republican, Dodd to Filibuster, and Democracy in Ohio |

Regardless of what you think about Ron Paul, he raised over $5 million today. As far as I’m concerned, let them give their money and support to a candidate with no real chance. I’d rather see it go to Paul than Giuliani or Romney.
Joe Lieberman (Warmonger-CT) will be endorsing John McCain. Here’s Joe in 2006, saying: “I want Democrats to be back in the majority in Washington and elect a Democratic president in 2008. This man [Ned Lamont] and his supporters will frustrate and defeat our hopes of doing that.”
Monday, Chris Dodd will filibuster to try to stop the Senate from granting full retroactive immunity to the telecom companies which helped Bush spy on Americans. http://thankyoudodd.com has been updated with action items and Firedoglake is collecting suggestions for what Dodd should read on the Senate floor. C&L and Firedoglake have more.
Remember how much Bill Clinton aged in his eight years in the White House? Hillary might have him beat in just eight months on the campaign trail. Wow.
Ironically, it turns out that even if you wait for hours to vote in Ohio, it probably won’t count anyway.
Turkey is conducting air-strikes in Northern Iraq, with American approval.

Time to strip Lieberman of his committee positions, right? Right?
I support Paul. He can win the GOP primary. People don’t seem to understand that paul’s success is driven by real people who give money and who more importantly…vote.
I think a lot of us here at the Seminal would rather see Paul win the Republican nomination than any other Republican. But realistically, I don’t think he has a chance. Money isn’t the only factor, and I don’t think he will do well in Iowa or South Carolina. Even if he outperforms expectations in New Hampshire, he won’t gain enough momentum from that to carry him to the nomination. The Republican base simply will not be comfortable with him. The nominee will ultimately be either Romney or Huckabee, in my estimation.
