New Poll: Telecom Immunity Inevitable?

by Jason Rosenbaum  ::  Filed Under U.S. Domestic Issues  ::  December 21st, 2007 @ 1:25 pm EST

This week, we ask if you think telecom immunity will eventually become law. But first, last week’s poll results:

Last week we asked you if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was a weaker leader than George W. Bush. Apparently, you think so, with 67% voting for Reid and only 33% voting for Bush. Which is really too bad, because it’s pretty easy to bring in a groundswell of support when you stand by your principles. Are you listening, Harry?

This week, we ask for a prediction. Chris Dodd’s filibuster on Monday forestalled a vote on telecom immunity until after the New Year, and I believe it made it harder for immunity to pass at all by setting a precedent. So, when all is said and done, will the Senate pass a FISA bill with immunity or will they stand up for the Constitution and pass one without it? Voting begins now in the sidebar to your left.
