Happy Solstice |

A pagan I am not. But for the past two years or so I have been trying to simply take note of each solstice and equinox as it arrives. Modern man lives so disconnected from nature, and remembering its basic rhythms is a useful way of reforging a bond. At the same time, paying attention to equinoxes and solstices reminds us of the nature-related origins of many of our holidays. With many people, it seems, feeling rather ambivalent about Christmas this year, maybe the solstice can provide a simple moment of reflection on what changes and what stays the same.
So however you observe the winter solstice, I hope you have a merry one.
