Kenya Violence, Pakistan Poll Postponed, Kucinich for Obama, Global Warming Denial

by Hannah McCrea  ::  Filed Under Daily Briefing, Special Topics  ::  January 1st, 2008 @ 3:31 pm EST

Violence continues in Kenya, one of Africa’s most prosperous and politically stable countries, following what many perceive as the rigged re-election of incumbent president Mwai Kibaki.

Pakistan is set to postpone elections from January 8 to an unannounced date, due to continuing unrest following Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

An interesting strategy, Dennis Kucinich has encouraged his supporters to vote for Barack Obama if they don’t consider him a strong enough candidate in the Iowa Caucus.

And Obama and Huckabee widen their leads.

In typical amoral fashion, Bush waffles over a bill that may discourage the genocide in Darfur.

And a true class act in the fight to “debunk” global warming.

Gotta love those global warming deniers. I’m glad they call that series the Inhofe 400. Inhofe is one of the worst. Hopefully he’ll be kicked out of Congress soon…

God loves global warming. In fact, it’s all part of his Master Plan to turn the Earth into his personal hydroponic container. Yahweh is about to get some homegrown.

Some of our leaders are actually taking pride in the killing going on in the country(Kenya). They are just ecstatic on their ability to decide when people should live or die. Lo, at the snap of their fingers they decree peace or war. They publicly denounce violence yet they silently incite the people. They agitate them to kill, and what they can’t kill they loot and what they can’t loot they burn. They leaders delight in collecting human trophies. They only regret that it is not possible to line up human skull along side other trophies in their houses. They’re quick to report exaggerated figures to the international press. Is it in the delight of any one to rule over corpses and cripples? To run the economy of mounds of ruins? Is justice, truth and democracy make any sense to the dead?
