Chaos in Kenya, US Mercenaries’ Hispanic Workforce, FISA Shot Down, Last State of the Union |

|
Kenya remains in a state of chaos after last month’s disputed election. Gangs of Kenyans are engaged in ethnic fighting in the Rift Valley. I wouldn’t expect this to end soon.
Mahmoud Abbas, PM of the Palestinian Authority, has received support from Egypt in rebuilding the border that broke last week, which had allowed Gazans to gather much needed supplies.
The LA Times is carrying a story about US mercenaries hiring Latin American workers to do the fighting and security detail in Iraq. Many of these fighters were former soldiers for paramilitary units in the 80’s. Good to see that the training they got at the School of the Americas is paying off double.
FISA’s dead! (for now)
Bush gives his final State of the Union address tonight. He’s going to say the economy is good, the surge worked, and we need to stay in Iraq forever. I just saved everyone an hour. Of course, you can make up your own drinking game to accompany the mindfuck (i.e. a kamikaze for every time he says “terror”, etc.)
State of the Union open thread, anybody?

Yep, you did save everyone an hour. That’s exactly what he said. He also trashed SCHIP. Great guy. Compassionate indeed.
