Donna Edwards, progressive candidate extraordinaire, won last night against corporate Al Wynn. This is a huge victory for progressives. The blogs, organizations like MoveOn, and activists like Matt Stoller put an amazing amount of time and money into this race. This is a game changing moment. As Red Wind says, the primary challenges are coming and the clock is ticking for Democrats who don’t stand for the people.

Oh, and Barack Obama won a few yesterday, too.

From bad to worse: Instead of talking with Microsoft, Yahoo is now looking to make a deal with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Looks like more media consolidation is on the way…

However, Rep. Edward Markey has proposed a bill that would bar Internet Service Providers from regulating Internet traffic. Let’s hope we get a victory for net neutrality at the very least.

Rick Noriega, progressive Senate candidate in Texas, will be debating his primary opponent, Ray McMurray tonight at 8 pm CST. I’ll be watching the stream, will you?

From The Blogs

Matt Browner-Hamlin has a great review of AJ Rossmiller’s new book, Still Broken (there’s an ad for it over to the right). The book is highly recommended. My copy is in the mail as well, so look for my review as soon as I get a chance to read it.

You know, we could secure Iraq if we really wanted to. We would just need a soldier for every man, woman, and child. But of course, long occupations with a force of millions poses some real problems.

Not all Super Delegates are old party insiders. There are quite a few younger players as well.

The Agonist has a great interview about Iran with the author and journalist Stephen Kinzer.

Video Of The Day

In her latest ad, Hillary Clinton goes on the attack.

With some progressive victories, the ongoing FISA fight in the House, and turmoil in all sorts of place in the world, there must be something to talk about. This is an open thread!
