O’Reilly Won’t Lynch Michelle Obama. Praise The Lord!

by Jason Rosenbaum  ::  Filed Under Daily Briefing  ::  February 20th, 2008 @ 10:00 am EST

This is too good bad to pass up:

In a discussion of recent comments made by Michelle Obama, Bill O’Reilly took a call from a listener who stated that, according to “a friend who had knowledge of her,” Obama ” ‘is a very angry,’ her word was ‘militant woman.’ ” O’Reilly later stated: “I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that’s how she really feels — that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever — then that’s legit. We’ll track it down.”

How come you can’t show a nipple during the Superbowl, but Bill O’Reilly can talk about lynching an African-American woman on Fox? If you’re against all censorship, fine, but if you’re going to censor, you can’t ignore things like this.

I’m no O’Reilly fan, but listen to the entire conversation on the link here and then decide if you are taking this out of context or not. The original poster appears to have read a blurb about the broadcast and, without doing any due diligence, ran with it - even as far as suggesting we start violating the first amendment. Give me a break. Seriously.

While I agree that the context is somewhat mitigating, you simply can’t use the word lynch to refer to an African American. That history is too long, painful, and recent to be ok.

    J,

    Cry about it.

I’d give up lunch for a year to punch Bill O’Reilly in his neck. No bullshit. This guy is the definition of a coward.

I think we should all go on O’Reilly’s lynching party–and then turn around and lynch him!

Speaking of First Lady Michelle Obama:

Michelle Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in her heart and mind she inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.

George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).

George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.

And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.

Many people know what Bush did.

And many people will know what Bush did%u2014even to the end of the world.

Bush was absolute evil.

Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.

Bush is a psychological prisoner.

Bush has a lot to worry about.

Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.

In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.
