After Dark Open Thread: More Obama Creativity |
|
|
There's a new Obama video in town, much in the line with the last "Yes We Can" video:
Seems like Obama's got the creative types on his side. This is an open thread, so what's up?

Check out the Obama Mixtape.
Great find, thanks!
It's easy to be cynical about politicians these days. But Obama pushes hope and unity, and that's good enough for me. And if he really does give the White House back to the people, well…
I don't keep that kind of hope in my soul, but what a glorious day…
theres but one thing that rankles me about all this inspiration that he brings; people equate their part in change with their vote for Barack Obama.
These celebrities have the ability to effect change and use the influence their societal status brings to speak out on issues, raise awareness, raise funds. Going on tape and endorsing Obama is all well and good, but the job isn't his alone. Change comes from the White House, yes, but the most effective change comes from alterations to the people's daily habits.
I'd like to see these celebrities working as activists for a cause, many causes. That would be a greater step towards change then singing Obama's name on a video, and would demonstrate actual devotion to change rather than lip service to a candidate that represents change.
