Vote for Andrew Rice! |

Please vote for Andrew Rice in the Feingold-chaired Progressive Patriots Fund competition.
Jason will be making his case for Rick Noriega later on, but I have a better argument: Rice’s opponent, Jim Inhofe, is the worst Republican senator currently serving. Hands down. A notorious global warming denier, corporate slave, Bush enabler, and homophobe, Inhofe personifies everything backward and despicable about the Republicans. If Democrats can capture former House Speaker Denny Hastert’s seat this year, Rice can take Inhofe’s - with your help.
Furthermore, Andrew is an excellent candidate who represents real American values: civil liberties, protection of our natural resources and environment, respect for veterans and troops, opposition to unjust wars, and investment in the common good. Andrew has already demonstrated real leadership in the Oklahoma State Senate, promoting legislation to extend health care to cover more children and facilitate donation of abandoned government properties to organizations like Habitat for Humanity. During his campaign Andrew is also encouraging supporters to help donate food to the needy, further demonstrating his commitment to issues of poverty and inequality. Electing this man would therefore not only strike a blow at the Republicans in a transformative election year, but also bring a true patriot and progressive to the US Senate, where he would join a generation of up and coming progressive leaders.
The Progressive Patriots Fund contribution can help make that goal a reality. Vote here!

I’m sold for now. We’ll see what Jason’s got for us. Though I cover Mark Udall, and he’s also on the ballot, he’s got a fundraising edge and polling ahead of his opponent Schaffer. Rice and Noriega may need the money more. I wonder, however, if there would be any negative backlash over winning a progressive award in a state like Oklahoma or Texas. What do you think the probability is that this would turn independents the other way?
