MSNBC Turns to Astrologer for Political Analysis, Ignores Blockbuster McCain Story |
|
|
About a half hour ago, someone on MSNBC (Contessa Brewer, I think), discussed the presidential race with an astrologer. According to the esteemed soothsayer, it’s hard to tell exactly what will happen and she can’t hazard a prediction about who will actually win. (If you’re going to talk to fortunetellers about the presidential election, shouldn’t you at least find one willing to make a real prediction?) The astrologer was willing to say that things will be turbulent this summer because “Leo is rising”. She also cryptically said that there is volatllity concerning who will be on the ticket. The MSNBC talking head asked if that could be with regard to the presidential or VP choice – the astrologer said either. Seeing as the Dem nomination isn’t a done deal yet and neither party has a VP picked, that’s less of a prediction than an observation.
I guess it’s better to hear from astrologers than from Chris Matthews or Tim Russert. The astrologer closed by giving the MSNBC anchor a personal reading, which included the comment that she (the MSNBC person) is devoted to “making the world a much better place”. Hey, the astrologer knows how to get in someone’s good graces.
What’s next, magic 8-balls? The traditional media coninues to embarrass itself.
Update: Once MSNBC gets done reading tea leaves, maybe they can find time to mention this blockbuster story–pastor John Hagee, who has endorsed McCain, gave a sermon a few years ago concluding that Hitler was fulfilling God’s will.Â

And they wonder why nobody watches MSNBC for their “news”.
First I would like to say that ‘astologist’ is the improper word for astrologer. Chris Matthews used this word on 5/30/08 and then debunked astrology. MSNBC should not be ridiculing astrologers. Astrology is a sacred art and should be respected or left alone. I have been enjoying Chris Matthews and MSNBC, but I will not watch anymore if astrology is riduculed again.
