New Poll: Health Care Solution |
|
|
This week, I want to know what you think the solution to our health care problems are. Do you think we’re alright with the system we have now? Do you think we should have less government intervention in health care? Or do we need some kind of public health insurance plan?
Voting begins now in the sidebar on the left.

I can’t choose any of the listed responses to your poll question because it doesn’t capture the complexity of the attendant issues.
Health policy in the US needs a complex multi-system approach to redesign and implementation. Everything from a single payer source of reimbursement (which is NOT government-run health CARE, BTW) to preventive health services which include assurance of potable water, nutritious and safe foods, prescription medication production, access and affordability, public health measures, communicable disease prevention and containment, clean air, affordable safe housing, reliable and safe transportation, uncoupling healthcare from insurance and from employment, and the list goes on.
However, your interest is terrific, and there is a perfect opportunity to engage in the policy process next week. KasierNetowrk.Org is hosting a live webcast about the role of the health blogosphere and its impact on health policy and journalism. Link about it (and my .02) at my name. My post apparently caused some agita at HHS and the WSJ, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to engage. I hope many from all over the blogosphere will participate and advance the cause.
Obviously, health care is a complex issue that is really hard to represent in a small blog poll. I was purposely going for broad strokes here, but yes, we need to be looking at lots of things and lots of aspects to solve this.
Oops - the link didn’t post at my name. Trying again.
Typo correction - it’s the KaiserNetwork.Org hosting the live webcast.
Sorry x 2.
