Apparently I’m Not Welcome Behind Closed Doors

by Josh Nelson  ::  Filed Under Energy Policy  ::  August 27th, 2008 @ 11:57 am EST

Within 10 minutes of arriving at The Big Tent I was kicked out of an event. At the entrance, there was a sign with a listing of today’s events. I’ve been looking forward to the Pickens Plan presentation, so when I saw that there was an additional session about to start, I went straight there. I was surprised to find about 10 people sitting in a small room around a conference table.

As I walked in and sat down, I received a few strange glances and overheard someone mention that they were waiting for T. Boone to arrive. As soon as I sat down, two people approached and asked who I was. I introduced myself and showed my Big Tent pass. One of the folks who questioned me said, “This is a private event, how did you find out about this?” I mentioned the schedule downstairs, and got up to leave. As I walked out, I said, “I’m curious as to what a bunch of Democrats have to talk about with an oil man behind closed doors.” A gentleman informed me that he would be glad to speak with me about that, and gave me a card. As I walked out, I added, “I’m sure nothing good can come of this.”

I was then escorted out of the building by two CAP employees, who were quite anxious to see me leave.

Personally, I’m just glad we have such an open and democratic process.

That’s ridiculous. And from CAP too, they must have been expecting you.

Sadly, this is apparently how a great deal of our government works–good ol’ boys behind closed doors padding each others bank accounts. Thankfully, we still have some input into our government…go Obama.

For now, however, we’ll need to keep a closer eye on T.Boone and the dems he’s meeting with these days.

Apparently T BOONES (sounds like a damn cartoon) is using his wind mill farms as a front for a plan to sell millions of gallons of water from an under ground aquifer to the city of Dallas and god knows what else. Sorry I can’t provide a link, I can’t remember where I read about it. This just proves to me that politicians don’t want you to know what’s really going on in their back room deals. Always question authority no matter your party affiliations.

And the beat goes on.
