Begich Now Leads in Alaska Senate Race (By 3 Votes)

I wonder if all the eligible Palins voted…incumbent Sen. Ted Stevens (Convicted Felon-AK) initially led the Alaska Senate race by a few thousand votes on election night, but Democratic challenger Mark Begich has now taken the lead after 43,000 absentee votes were counted today (the count is not yet complete).  How much is Begich ahead by?  3 votes, 125,019-125,016.  There are still at least 10,000 absentee and questioned ballots to count, and apparently counting may not be done until next week, but as of now, there is a chance Alaskans have elected someone who was not recently convicted of criminal malfeasance.

update–Begich has increased his lead to 814 votes…still more votes to be counted, sounds like many of the outstanding votes are from districts that voted in Begich’s favor (per daily kos)
