This is going around, thought folks might get a kick out of it. — Josh

We, the United States of America, your top quality supplier of ideals of democracy, would like to apologize for our 2001-2008 interruption in service. The technical fault that led to this eight-year service outage has been located, and the software responsible was replaced November 4. Early tests of the newly installed program indicate that we are now operating correctly, and we expect it to be fully functional from this point forward. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the outage. We look forward to resuming full service and hope to improve in years to come. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I’m assuming we’ll be refunded the money we spent as taxpayers on these 8 years - or at least be given a coupon so we don’t have to pay for the next 8.

insert “r” into “outage”. t’would sound better and a be, depending on one’s perspective, more accurate as “outrage”…

Don’t start the preverbial circle jerk yet. Obama hasnt done anything yet………..except back off on some campaign promises. Certainly we should wait for some actual substance before we start, or in your case continue, to worship him. Hopefully he shows more leadership qualities as President than he showed as a senator that often just voted present.

what campaign promises has Obama backed off on? I have seen him fulfill a few–including his promise to close down Guantanamo. I do agree that it is too early to judge Obama, of course, but the early signs are encouraging.
