Solis Confirmation Tomorrow |

The Senate will vote to confirm Hilda Solis as Secretary of Labor tomorrow. As I wrote last week:
…it would be a key victory for progressives to have an ally in the Department of Labor, seeing as it controls such important things as occupational safety, unemployment insurance benefits, wage and hour standards, and re-employment and re-training services.

…progressives should rally around this pick. It’s a confirmation that we have a strong movement, especially in the labor sector, and her confirmation would be a chance to put our ideas into action.
So, let’s go rack up a victory.
SEIU has a letter writing campaign to the Senate going on now. Take a moment, write your Senators, and ask them to confirm Solis tomorrow.
